摘  要:在5.12地震发生之后的捐款活动中,一些跨国企业因为反应迟缓饱受舆论诟病;同时,很多中国企业在捐款中的行动受到公众的高度赞扬。对此现象,可以从中西慈善文化差异和中西企业慈善文化及机制的差异分析其深层原因。由于西方慈善文化的影响以及自身公司严格的捐赠运行机制,跨国企业的捐赠相对迟缓,而基于中国慈善文化的影响,中国公众对跨国公司的行为无法接受,因而掀起了舆论狂澜。这次事件应促使跨国公司和中国企业及中国公众思考应如何在全球化的浪潮中更好地应对文化差异。After the devastating earthquake on May 12th, 2008, all circles of life proactively volunteered to make donations to earthquake-hit areas. Many Chinese enterprises earned great acclaim for their generous donations while some muhinational corporations (hence MNCs) in China received severe criticisms for slow and "mean" actions. This paper intends to analyze the in-depth causes of this phenomenon from the perspective of cultural differences. Influenced by the western philanthropic values and rigid donation processes within companies, some MNCs didn't give efficient response to donation appeals. This aroused enormous fury among Chinese public with deeply rooted Chinese philanthropic beliefs. The Donation Gate of MNCs after the quake ,not only reflects that MNCs should take cultural differences more seriously in decision-making but also provides an opportunity for Chinese enterprises to contemplate on their role as a corporate citizen against the globalization background, as well as for Chinese public to consider how to deal with cultural differences in future.
