摘　　要：新历史主义把文本创作的过程看作是受历史决定并影响历史的文化活动形式,作者受特定历史时代的意识形态和特殊生存状态的影响,但同时凭借自身的人格力量又会不断挑战社会中占统治地位的意识形态。因此应将《野草在歌唱》的主题内容与多丽丝·莱辛英裔白人的特殊身份联系起来考察,发现作者独特的思考。New Historicism views literature writing as a form of cultural activities which are determined by and influence history. Writer is not only influenced by the ideology in specific historical period and by his/her special life experiences, but constantly challenges the ruling ide- ology by the strength of his/her unique personality. Therefore, Doris Lessing’s untouchable thinking can be revealed through a careful research on the relation between the theme of The Grass is Singing and her special identity as a white woman of British origin.
