摘  要:This study compared two learning strategies (word-part method and context-clue method) for Chinese EFL learners' vocabulary acquisition and retention. The results revealed that the context-clue group yielded significantly higher scores on the immediate posttests than the word-part group. The context-clue group outperformed on the immediate and delayed fill-in-the-blank posttests than the word-part group. As regards gender effects, no overall differences were found between male and female students. Additionally, the pretest had positive effects on two posttests for the female students, but negative effects for the male students. In educational settings, the context-clue method is highly suggested for explicit vocabulary instruction.本论文对两种词汇策略(构词法和上下文线索法)在中国英语学习者词汇习得和保持方面的效能进行分析比较。结果表明上下文线索组在实验后即时进行的测试中成绩明显高于构词组。上下文线索组在实验后即时和随后进行的测试中优于构词组。就性别而言,女生和男生的整体成绩并无差异。另外,实验前的测试成绩对女生在后期两次测试中的表现有着积极的影响,而对男生则是消极的影响。在教学实践中,强烈推荐上下文线索法用于显性词汇教学。
