摘　　要：In the United States. most of the non-Federal hydropower (N-FHP) reservoirs licensed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) were constructed only within the past 100 years. At NFUP reservoirs sedimentation issues can be characterized as either generic or special. The generic sedimentation issues are often similar to those of other agencies. The special sedimentation issues are those believed to be distinct from that of other federal agencies, i.e. Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation. etc. Since the generic issues have been discussed elsewhere (Fan, 1989 & 1990), this paper will only address selected major investigations of special sedimentation issues at some hydro reservoirs. This paper is based on the author's experience in managing NFHP projects at the FERC.
