摘　　要：Ⅰ. INTRODUCTIONThe Permian-Triassic section in Guangyuan County of Sichuan Province was chosen for a magnetostratigraphic study. Previously, the section has been studied in detail palaeontologically and an iridium anomaly has been detected at the Permian-Triassic boundary. Field work and paleomagnetic sampling were carried out in October 1984. All measurements and experiments were done in the paleomagnetic laboratory of the Institute of Geophysics, ETH Zürich in 1985.
