COMMENTS ON THE LINE VARIATIONS IN QUASARS AND SEYFERT GALAXIES

摘　　要：Up to now, the knowledge of size and structure of the BLR of AGNs, such as quasars and Seyfert galaxies, is still rather unclear. In recent years, people attempted to use the response characteristic of the line intensity with the rapid variation of the UV continuum intensity to quantitatively estimate the size and structure of BLR. Gaskell and Sparke used the cross-correlation analyses to study the optical and UV observational data of three Seyfert galaxies, NGC4151, Akn 120 and Mrk509, and obtained some interesting new results. The clearest and the most important conclusions are as follows:
