摘 要:To examine the long-term efficacy of combination therapy of amiodarone and bisoprolol in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (P-AF). Methods Eighty-eight patients with P-AF were divided into two groups : 44 patients treated with bisoprolol and amiodarone were enrolled in group A; 44 patients treated with amiodarone alone were enrolled in group B. Survival rates, rates of conversing to permanent atrial fibrillation (AF), subjective symptom improvement rates and secondary bradyarrhythmia rates of the two groups were measured and analyzed. Results At 12 and 24 months, the survival rates for patients free from atrial fibrillation recurrence were 75 % and 59. 1% in group A, and 54.5 % and 36. 4 % in group B (P 〈 0. 05, group A vs. group B). The percentage of patients with conversion to permanent AF was 6.8 % in group A and 25 % in group B ( P 〈 0. 05, group A vs. group B). In group A, 36 patients (81.8 % ) experienced subjective symptom improvement and only 24 patients (54. 5 % ) in group B (P 〈 0. 01, group A vs. group B). Whereas there was no significant difference in patients with secondary bradyarrhythmia ( P 〉 0. 05, group A vs. group B). Conclusions In patients with P-AF, bisoprolol appears to enhance the efficacy of amiodarone therapy in maintaining sinus rhythm and improving subjective symptoms.
