摘　　要：英语专业教育中中文修养不容忽视,中文修养关乎该专业所培养人才的民族立场、关乎他们对英语的习得和应用;文章首先从这三个方面逐一说明英语专业教育中中文的重要性。其后通过对全国知名高校的研究生入学考试中中文要求情况的考察,得出了如今英语专业教育中中文要求的现状:我国英语专业教育中没有给予中文应有地位。根据这一状况最后提出三点建议:英语专业教育中增设中文课程,研究生入学考试中体现中文要求以及提高英语教师的中文素养。Chinese cultivation in English major education is not to be ignored, for this cultivation is closely related to national identity, English acquisition and future application. In its first part this paper gives a full argument of the importance of Chinese cultivation just from these three perspectives; then based on a survey of the Chinese requirement by the 22 top universities of China in the graduate entrance examination, it draws the conclusion that Chinese cultivation in our present English major education has not been given a position it deserves; and in its last part it puts forward three proposes to this end.
