Objective To study the clinical values of the dynamic changes of serum C-reaction protein(CRP) and glueose(Glu) in the patients with traumatic brain injury. Methods 97 cases of traumatic brain injury were divided into three groups(gentle, miled, moderate and severe) based on the GCS scores, and 35 cases of healthy people were used as controls. The concentrations of CRP and Glu in serum were determined by biochemical analyzer at 6 h, on 1 d,3 d,14 d after injury. Results The levels of serum CRP and Glu were significantly higher in traumatic brain injury group than those in control group(P〈0.01) ,and had a negative correlation with the patients' GSC scores. The increased concentration of CRP and Glu were highest in severe group than those in moderate and mild group. The increased range of CPR and Glu in patients with worsen condition and malignant prognosis was higher and the time of duration was longer. Conclusion The levels of serum CRP and Glu are related to the severity of patients with traumatic brain injury, and the dynamic observation of CRP and Glu changes can be used to judge the severity and prognosis in the patients with traumatic brain injury.
