西安潏河南岸的马化石

摘　　要：目的研究陕西西安潏河南岸的马类化石。方法运用经典的地质学和古生物学方法,包括地层分析,化石解剖,系统描述,形态对比等。结果化石埋藏于一级阶地下部砂砾石层中,其下颌支冠状突明显后倾,上颊齿马刺弱,下颊齿内谷呈宽阔的U形,外谷长,深入双叶颈内等特征与普氏野马Equus przewalskii一致;同时,它的下后附尖窄长,下前附尖尖窄等又与家马Equus caballus的某些特征类似。结论化石层的年龄为距今一万年左右,化石的主要特征与普氏野马Equus przew-alskii一致,有些特征又与家马Equus caballus类似,定为似普氏野马Equuscf.przewalskii。Aim To research the fossils of Equus cf. przewalskii from south bank of Juehe river, Xi＇ an, Shaanxi province, China. Methods Using the classical geology methods including formation analysis, measuring and comparing with other locality fossils. Results The fossils were collected from the lower gravel layer of the I terrace at south bank of Juehe river. The condyle is strongly tilted to backward, and the lower teeth have U-shaped linguaflexids and long ectoflexids that penetrate into the isthmuses. The upper teeth have weak pli caballine. On the lower teeth, the parastylid is sharp and narrow, and the metastylid is narrow and long. Conclusion The fossils are identical in major character with Equus przewalskii. Meanwhile their some features are similar with the Equus cabaUus. So, they are identified to be the Equus cf. przewalskii and their age is about 10 kaBP.
