Effects of Calcium propionate on ruminal degradability of corn stover in Simmental steer

摘　　要：Four Simmental steers （average BW 500 kg, aged 3.5） cannulated at the rumen consuming a corn stover diet were used in a 4×4 Latin square design and supplemented with calcium propionate （0, 100, 200 and 300 g/d） to evaluate the effects of calcium propionate on ruminal degradability of corn stover. The results showed that DM effective degradability of corn stover in group supplemented calcium propionate at 200 g/d tended to be higher than control group, but no significant difference （P〉0.05）. OM, NDF and ADF effective degradabilities of corn stover in group supplemented calcium propionate at 200 g/d were higher than control group （P〈0.05）, but no significant difference among other group （P〉0.05）. The optimum calcium propionate supplemented dose was 200 g/d.
