摘　　要：鲁德亚德·吉卜林的公学小说《斯托凯与其同党》是部倍受争议的作品。它通过对几个机灵、淘气的主人公恶作剧的戏剧性描写,在体育精神、道德教训和服从权威等方面都背离了英国维多利亚时代的公学小说传统。从这个意义上来说,小说具有颠覆性意义。但是,从更深的层面上来看,这部小说在帝国主义观念等方面是认同英国传统公学小说基本理念的,只是由于吉卜林独特的经历和思想,小说对如何培养大英帝国捍卫者提出了不同的教育理念。As Rudyard Kipling's most controversial work,The Complete Stalky and Co.subverts the discipline, masculine spirit and moral principles advocated in the orthodox school story through the dramatic depiction of Stalky and his companions.However,further study of the work shows that,in essence,it identifies itself with the orthodox school story,especially in its ideology concerning the British Empire,though Kipling's unique experience led him to different educational notions.
