摘　　要：礼貌是人类文明的象征,是人类社会的普遍现象。不过,不同国家的人们遵循的礼貌原则是不同的。通过比较英汉文化中礼貌语用准则的异同,可见其相似性和差异性的本质是英汉文化上的异同。了解英汉礼貌原则的异同,能够避免语用失误,达到跨文化交际成功的目的。Politeness,as a symbol of human civilization,is a universal phenomenon of the human society.However, people of different countries observe different politeness principles. A comparative study of the similarities and differences of the politeness maxims in English and Chinese cultures seem to indicate that their essence is shown in English and Chinese cultures. Understanding the similarities and differences in their politeness principles can avoid pragmatic errors and reach the successful purpose of intercultural communication.
