摘　　要：研究了一种新的标题化合物的重结晶方法，采用氢氧化钠水溶液作溶剂处理粗2，4，6-三甲基苯甲酸，然后在水和乙醇混合溶液中重结晶并利用活性炭脱色，并与常规的用甲苯重结晶方法进行对比，考察了这两种方法提纯2，4，6-三甲基苯甲酸的效果。最终产品为白色粉末晶体，纯度达到100％，m．p．150～152℃，达到产品纯度的要求。A comparison of two methods for purifying 2, 4, 6- trimethyl benzoic acid was carried out. The two methods are described as follows. The new method involved the purification of crude 2,4,6-trimethyl benzoic acid by sodium hydroxide solution and discoloration by active carbon followed by reerystallization of 2,4,6-trimethyl benzoic acid in an aqueous solution of alcohol. The conventional methods involved the purification of crude 2,4, 6-trimethyl benzoic acid by toluene. The effect of these two methods was investigated. Using this technique, the final product was white powder crystal,with its purity being higher than 100% and its melting point ranging between 150 - 152 ℃.
