摘　　要：城市空间的形成受到地理条件与技术水平的影响,更取决于管治者制定的建设计划和制度。在民国时期市政法规的引导和影响下,广州市形成了富有生机、秩序和特色的城市空间,形成了富有魅力的城市景观。结合城市特征制定完备的城市规划法规体系,将是今后建设有特色的城市空间努力的方向。Geography and technology affect the formation of urban space but the primary influence on urban development is city planning and government. During China＇s Republican Period the city laws of Guangzhou helped shape the vital urban spaces of its characteristic cityscape. Comprehensive urban planning law reform should establish a system for improved urban spatial development.
