摘 要:作者认为面波震级的基准应该是全球台网各台站测定面波震级值的平均值。美国国家地震信息中心(NEIC)测报的面波震级MSZ可作为这个基准。在此基准的基础上,作者较全面地比较了中国地震基本台网测定的面波震级MSP和MS7与MSZ的偏差。由于MS7的观测仪器和测定方法都与NEIC的一致,故MS7与MSZ比较一致,对全球地震两者无系统误差。对中国及邻区地震,MS7比MSZ系统高0.08~0.1级。中国的面波震级测定倾向于采用MS7标度。In this paper,the authors suggest that the mean value of surface wave magnitudes of earthquakes measured by various seismic stations of the World Wide Standard Seismograph Networks (WWSSN) should be the reference datum of surface wave magnitude of the quake.The surface wave magnitude M sz measured by NEIC can be used as the reference datum.On this basis of the reference datum,the authors comprehensively compare the deviations of surface wave magnitudes M sp and M s7 measured by the National Standard Seismograph Network of China from M sz measured by NEIC.As the observational instruments and measuring methods for M s7 of China are the same as that of NEIC, M s7 is relatively consistent with M sz ,and there are no systematic deviations between them as for the earthquakes occurring over the globe,but as for the quakes occurring in and around China,the M s7 is 0 08—0 1 higher in magnitude than M sz .In China,the seismological workers prefer to use M s7 as the surface wave magnitude.
