The spatial relation is one of the important theories of geographic information system. It refers to the geographical en- tities which have some spatial characteristics relationship among them. Route choice is one of the researches of the spatial relations. It involves the relationship of the topology, distance and direction. This paper is for the purpose of exploring the ring road tendency influencing factors on route choosing to people's choice of road travel, and providing the reference mode for the way inquiry. The Third Ring Road of Beijing was taken as the main object of the study. According to 12 direction city reference frame, and the reality division characteristic of the Third Ring Road section names, the Third Ring Road and its internal area were di- vided into nine parts with horder, angle, venter(three regions). By the topology relation of the two spots and closed curves, 18 kinds of typical situation were selected from the relationship between the path and the three regions. Finally, through cognitive experiments on 100 people of Beijing, the statistic data were gotten and the analysis was done from three variables(the start-terminal location, the directions of north-south and east-west, the proportion of redundant sections). The results confirm that tendency of the ring road factors influence the traveler to choose the ring road.
