杜文秀政权与斯拉登勾结了吗——与高鸿志先生商榷

摘　　要：近人高鸿志先生在《英国与中国边疆危机》一书中论述了杜文秀政权与英国的关系,得出结论说大理政权赶走了安邺"探险队",却欢迎英国侵略势力进入滇西,前门拒虎,后门迎狼,说杜文秀在处理对外关系上并不是"完全正确"的。可这是没有根据的推测之词,我们认为有必要对斯拉登腾越之行的历史真相进行全面系统的考察,以还历史的本来面目。历史事实表明,斯拉登探查团仅是一个商务考察团性质的代表团,无权也不可能与大理政权订立任何条约。写史要对历史负责,不能"空谷来风,毫无根据"地对杜文秀大理政权加上莫须有的罪名。In Gao Hongzhi＇ s works ＂The British and Crisis in China＇ s Border Region＂, the author depicted relationship between Du Wenxiu＇ s Administration and Britain. It concluded that it was Du Wenxiu＇ s Dali Administration that expelled the ＂French Exploration Team＂, and weleomed the British invaders to enter the west of Yunnan. In order to make the historical event clearer, we think it necessary to make further investigation to S. Laden＇ s trip to Yun nan in order to clarify the truth of the matter. Historical faets tell us that S. Laden＇ s investigation group was merely a commercial one, and it therefore had no power to conclude relationship with Du＇ s Dali Administration. For historians, we should bear responsibility to history and should, therefore, not impose groundless charge to Du Wenxiu＇ s Administration.
