摘　　要：本文报道了从上海动物园棕尾虹雉（Lophophorusimpejanus）体上所采集的鸟虱，经鉴定后，该虫神为头角亚目（Amblycera）短角鸟虱科（Menoponidae）短角鸟虱属（Menopon）一新种，文内对其所具有的分类特征进行了描述，并绘图。The present paper describes a new species of brid lice parasitic on pheasant from Shanghai Zoological Garden. Menopon impejanus Zhou et Liu, Sp. nov. (Fig 1 ) This new species is similar to Menopon mantchuricum Sun et Liu, Sp. nov. 1996, but differs in the following characteristics: 1. Total length 1.94 mm, breadth 0.76 mm in female, total length 2 .18 mm, breadth 0.79 mm in male; 2. On the terminal antennal segment with sense hairs (Fig 1 A); 3. The sitophore sclerite of hypopharynx with gula (Fig 1 B); 4. On the abdominal segments with pleurites in both sexes; 5. The shape of the male genitalia differs from the M. mantchuricum n. sp. (Fig 1 D). Type host: Lophophorus impelanus Holotype , allotype , collected from Shanghai Zoo in 1987. The type specimens are deposited in the Department of Parasitology, Shanghai Medical University.
