摘　　要：城市理性增长强调经济、社会和环境的可持续共同发展,已成为美国城市发展的行动纲领。系统地总结了城市理性增长的理论模型,美国城市理性增长在土地利用变更、社区复兴、住宅偏好及选择、耕地保护与基础设施建设等领域的实践效果,以及理性增长的中国化进程。The smart growth of cities emphasizes on the sustainable development of economy, society and environment, which has become the urban development programme of action in the United States. This article systematically summarizes the theoretical model of smart growth, practical effect of smart growth in the field of land use change, community revitalization, housing preferences, farmland preservation, and infrastructure construction in the United States, and the development process of smart growth in China. We hope that the concept of smart growth will provide reference for the sustainable development of cities in China.
