摘　　要：光纤通信技术的问世与发展给世界通信业带来了革命性的变革。特别是经历近40年的研究开发,光纤、光缆、器件、系统的品种不断更新,性能逐渐完善,已使光纤通信成为信息高速公路的传输平台。本文探讨了光纤通信的发展趋势、它在传送容量和传送距离等性能方面的进展及网络技术方面的应用。Optical fiber communications of technology being published has brought the revolutionary transformation with the development for the world correspondence industry. Specially experiences the nearly 40years research development, the optical fiber, the optical cable, the component, the system variety unceasingly renews, the performance gradually improves, has caused the optical fiber communications to become the information superhighway information superhighway the transmission platform. This article has discussed the optical fiber communications of development tendency, it is away from and so on the performance aspect progress and the network technology aspect application in the transmission capacity and the transmission.
