摘　　要：1900年以后,越来越多的日本移民投身到加利福尼亚的农业生产领域,一方面为加州的农业发展带来了活力,另一方面也引发了当地白人对于日本移民的歧视与排斥。在极为不利的社会政治环境下,日本移民仍然在二战前保持了自己在加州农业中的地位和影响力。本文在阐述加州日本移民从事农业生产历程及特点的基础上,力图找出其中的原因。From the beginning of the 20th century, more and more Japanese immigrants devoted themselves into Califonia agriculture, which not only injecting vitality into the agricultural development in California, but also incurring discrimination and rejection from the local White. However, in spite of all these disadvantages, the Japanese immigrants maintained their status and influence in California agriculture before WWII. This paper tries to find out the reasons behind it by exploring the process and characteristics of Japanese immigrants＇ engagement in California agriculture.
