Objective:To evaluate the clinical results of treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures by using percutaneous vertebroplasty combined hyperextension position from the view of medical imageology. Methods: Thirty-seven cases treated by percutaneous vertebroplasty in recent 3 years were collected in this study. Their rates of vertebra compression and cobb's angles before, after operation and the follow up period were surveyed from their lateral X ray. Then estimated the clinical results of the treatment from the view of medical imageology. Results: The follow up period was 6 months. There were significant differences in the rates of vertebra compression and the cobb's angles before and after operation. There was no significant difference in the rates of vertebra compression and the cobb's angles between after operation and the follow up period. Conclusion:A satisfactory result in rebounding vertebra can be achieved for those patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures by using the percutaneous vertebroplasty combined the hyperextension position with strict indications and carefully operation.
