摘　　要："哨棒"作为人们出行时的壮行工具,今人多有误解,对"哨棒"的解释也各不相同。造成误解的原因,盖因受"哨"字字义影响及对《水浒》研究不深入所致。"哨棒"不是能够发声的木棒,它只是"人们出行时用于防身的短棒而已"。Shaobang （a kind of stick used as weapon）, as a kind of weapon, is misunderstood by many people. There are also many interpretations of it. The reason for the misunderstanding might be influenced by ＂shao＂ of it and be caused by the superficial study of Outlaws of Marshes. Shaobang is not a stick that can produce sound, it is only a kind of short sticks that can be used for defense.
