摘　　要：文章首先从多媒体通信的发展背景入手,明确定义,阐述了多媒体通信的技术、业务和发展特点,以及多媒体通信发展的环境条件、网络要求和关键技术,并介绍了国外多媒体通信的现状与发展趋势,最后提出我国在发展多媒体通信中应注意的几个问题.Firstly, the development background and definitions of multimedia communication are presented in this paper. Secondly, the technical and service features, development characteristics of multimedia communication are described. Then the environmental conditions, network requirements and critical technologies for the development of multimedia communication are depicted. After that, the present status and development trends of foreign multimedia communication are introduced. Finally, several points that should be paid attention to in the development of multimedia communication in China are proposed.
