摘　　要：田纳西·威廉斯的力作《去年夏天突然来临》具有太多似是而非、模棱两可的悬疑之处,构成悬疑的三个基石分别是戏剧结构上的莫比乌斯带、人物的污点以及他者的凝视。悬疑不但开启了象征性阐释运动的实在界空洞,而且阐释了拉康意义上的对象小a,即一个"什么都不是"发动了一幕围绕其展开的、性命攸关的故事。Much ambivalence and ambiguity has been built into Tennessee Williams's Suddenly Last Summer,and applying a Lacannian perspective to the interpretation of the text would show that the suspense is created by Williams's employment of devices such as Mobius theatric structure,stained protagonists and gaze of the Other.The interpretation could,in turn,shed light on Lacan's concept of 'the petit object a in the Real,' which enables a story to unfold from Nothing.
