从外籍编委审校英文学报看中译英常见的问题

摘　　要：用英文发表文章不仅是国际交流的需要,也是研究成果评估的一个标准。但大部分科研工作者英文稿件的表达水平较差,常令外籍审稿专家无法修改。从Chinese Journal of Agricultural Biotechnology(CJAB)(《中国农业生物技术学报》(英文版))已发表文章的编辑修改过程中,我们发现四种主要问题:1意思表述不清楚,中国式英语;2句子不精练,结构繁琐;3句子不完整,缺少谓语或介词等;4谓语动词不确切或同一动词多次重复。针对以上问题,作者列举了具有代表性的例句并给出了正确的答案,同时提出了提高中译英文章可读性的五项建议。The purpose of publishing papers in English is not only for the international communication but also for the evaluation and promotion of research work. However, most of the contributions are poor in English, which makes native English editors hopeless for revision.. This paper discusses four kinds of problems found in the edi- ting and revising of the English articles published in Chinese Journal of Agricultural Biotechnology （CJAB）. 1, Chinglish, ideas unclear in expressison and hard for apprehension ; 2, Lengthy sentences needed to be reformulat- ed concisely; 3, Uncompleted sentences, something missing; 4, The verb is not suitable and the conjugate verb is absent. A number of examples are listed for demonstrating and correcting these four types of errors. In the end, five suggestions are made to improve the effectiveness and readability of English articles in translation..
