摘　　要：生命树项目（Tree of Life Project，ToL）是一个试图囊括地球上各种物种的生物学信息并以树形结构表示物种进化关系的免费数字图书馆。作为美国国家科学数字图书馆（NSDL）项目的一部分，生命树项目面向生物学者和普通非专业用户提供了大量的资源。文章着重从资源组织、技术特征、服务特点等方面对分生命树项目做了概要评述，同时给出了评价与建议。Tree of Life Project （ToL） is a non-profit digital library that contains biological information of all species on earth and presents their phylogenetic relationships among the creatures with a tree structure. As a part of the National Science Digital Library （NSDL） program, ToL provides biologists and common casual users with great content. By reviewing the ToL, this paper provides an overview of the major development of the digital collection, including its resources organization, technologies employed, services provided, and suggestions for the improvements.
