摘　　要：桂学有广义、狭义之分。广义的桂学又称广西学,是广西学术文化的简称。狭义的桂学叫桂林学,特指桂林的学术文化,主要研究从古至今桂林地区,或者说广西北部地区的学术文化及其发展,包括所涉领域的学术积累、学术气氛与学术动向,旨在概括桂林学术发展特点及学术精神,揭示桂林学术思想传承历史,积极建立起立足于21世纪的新鲜的科学的桂学。Generalized Gui research refers to Guangxi research, it＇s an abbreviation of Guangxi academic culture. Narrow sense of Gui research refers to Guilin research, specifically to Guilin academic culture. It majors on the academic culture and development of Guilin district （the northern part of Guangxi） since ancient times, including the areas covered by the accumulation of academic, academic atmosphere and academic trends. It aims at summarizing general characteristics and academic spirit of Guilin academic development, revealing the historical heritage Guilin academic thinking, and actively establish a foothold in the 21st century, fresh scientific Guixue.
