摘　　要：地处长江中下游要冲的芜湖,是晚清中国被迫对外开放的沿江城市之一。芜湖成为通商口岸后,依靠便利的轮船航运条件,大力发展进出口贸易,同时加强与其他沿江城市之间的有机联系。芜湖在19世纪中叶迅速崛起,成为沿江通商口岸的重要城市之一。Located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Wuhu is one of the eities in China in late Qing Dynasty which was fored to open to the foreigners. As a pert city, Wuhu relies on vessels to facilitate the shipping conditions, vigorously develop foreign trade, enhance cooperation with other cities along the fiver between the organic links in the mid - 19th century. It rest rapidly and became an important river port city.
