摘　　要：戏剧《威尼斯商人》常常被学者们认为是莎士比亚喜剧的代表作,但2004年发行的由迈克尔.雷德福执导的电影《威尼斯商人》将莎翁的这部名剧变成了一部地地道道的悲剧,在故事时代背景的渲染、人物形象的塑造和电影风格元素的运用等方面无不显示其悲剧特色。The Merchant of Venice has long been regarded as the representative work of Shakespeare＇s comedies,but the 2004 film version of The Merchant of Venice directed by Michael Radford provided a totally new interpretation to this classical play. The film revealed evident tragic features in the historic background, the characterization of the major character Shylock and the application of some special film stylistic elements.
