Electrokinetic Behavior on the Surface of PP Hollow Fiber Membrane Modified by Using Low-Temperature Plasma Method

摘  要:采用丙烯酸和丙烯酰胺为单体,对聚丙烯中空纤维膜表面进行低温等离子体表面处理并引发接枝反应。红外拉曼光谱(FT-IR)分析结果表明,丙烯酸(AA)和丙烯酰胺(AM)分别接枝到膜表面。设计了中空纤维膜流动电位测定装置,测定膜表面的流动电位,根据Hel mholtz-Smoluehowski方程式计算了不同单体接枝情况下聚丙烯膜表面ζ电位以及电荷密度,以表征膜表面改性的程度。结果表明,接枝了丙烯酸和丙烯酰胺的膜表面ζ电位以及电荷密度分别为-16.39mV、11.8×10-6C/m2和-20.44 mV、14.7×10-6C/m2,膜表面的荷电性能改变能够改善膜的表面性能,尤其是对分离带负电的胶体溶液具有重要意义。There were used two type monomers: acrylic acid (AA) and acryl amide (AM) to modified by lowtemperature plasma treatment and graft copolymerization. Fourier-transform IR spectroscopy (FT-IR) characterizations show that AA and AM have been successfully grafted onto the surface of PP membranes, respectively. Streaming potential measurements have been used to investigate the surface characteristics of modified membrane and original membrane by the equipment for streaming potential measurement which was made in our laboratory. The zeta potentials and charge density of the membranes were calculated from the streaming potential by using Helmholtz-Smoluchowski equation and Gouy-Chapmann equation, respectively. The results show that the zeta potential of original membrane, 100 % AA and 10 % AM grafted membranes is - 12.73 mV, - 16.39 mV, - 20.44 mV , The charge density is 9.17 ×10-6 C/m2, 11.8 ×10-6C/m2, 14.7×10-6 C/m2, respectively. The change can improve the hydrophilic characteristics of membranes surface, especially on separating negative charge colloid, oil emulsion and so on.
