中西哈代小说女性人物研究透视与思考  

Reflections on the Studies of Women Characters in Hardy's Novels

摘　　要：哈代小说成功地塑造了大量的女性人物,并得到了很高的评价。中西方评论界重点研究的是他"性格与环境小说"中的主要女性人物,特别是他四部悲剧小说中的女主人公,批评方法主要是西方女性主义,对哈代小说女性人物的界定主要是"传统女性"和"新女性"。今后应将哈代小说中的全部主要女性人物纳入研究范围,重点是主要女性人物性格与思想的个案研究、女性人物的分类研究、女性人物性格和思想共性的研究、哈代女性观与爱情婚姻观的演变过程及形成根源的研究。在批评方法上应以文学伦理学批评方法、当代女性学研究方法为主,注重不同批评方法的交叉与融合。同时,应注重从中国特定文化语境的角度得出新的结论。Hardy has successfully portrayed many women characters in his novels, which has won him high praise. The status quo of the studies shows that critics and scholars have so far mainly concentrated on the major women characters in Hardy＇s ＂Novels of Character and Environment＂, especially on the heroines in his four tragedies. The critical method used has chiefly been feminist, classifying the women characters in Hardy＇s novels into the two categories of ＂traditional women＂ and ＂new women＂. In the future, the scope of the studies should be extended to the major women characters in all of Hardy＇s novels, with the focus on the case study of the personalities and thoughts of the major women characters, the classified studies of the women characters, the generality of their personalities and thoughts, the evolving process of Hardy＇s views about women and their shaping roots. In critical approaches, literary ethical criticism and contemporary women studies should be used as the major ones; and different critical approaches should be combined. New conclusions drawn from the context of the particular Chinese culture should be emphasized.
