摘　　要：司各特.菲茨杰拉德的小说,从工业化、城市化和移民化三个方面对美国20世纪初的现代化革命进行了反思。代表美国道德堕落的汽车工业,发展成有闲阶级炫耀财富的手段,而车祸同时对人类产生毁灭性的影响;农业化的西部,受到城市化程度高的东部的吸引,也导致传统道德影响力的消退;同时对外来移民脱离母国文化向殖民者宣扬的"先进"文明靠拢的趋势,也给予了关注。Scott Fitzgerald＇s fictions make introspection on America＇s modernization in the early 1920s from industrialization, urbanization and immigration. The auto industry, symbol for Americans＇ moral degeneration, has developed to a means for the idle rich of showing off their wealth, and car accidents have brought about destructive influences on human beings. The agricultural West, influenced by the highly urbanized East, is on the way of vanishment of traditional morality. Meanwhile, at- tention has been drawn to the tendency of immigrants＇ deviation of their mother cultures and surrender to the ＂advanced＂ civilization preached by colonists.
