摘　　要：杨怀仁先生是我国著名的地貌学与第四纪地质学家,在地貌与第四纪科学研究、教学和人才培养方面做出了杰出贡献。前不久,杨先生因病逝世。《第四纪研究》特刊载南京大学地理与海洋科学学院杨达源教授等撰写的纪念短文,以表达学界对先生的缅怀之情。Prof. Yang Huairen is one of the greatest geomorphologists and Quaternary geologists in China. He was the founder of China＇s Quaternary geology teaching system and compiled lots of excellent teaching materials for Quaternary geology education. He also gave great contributions on the integrated research of geomorphology and Quaternary science, especially his early prediction about the environmental effects of ＂ global warming＂ in 1988 which has been approved basically right. Prof. Yang Huairen passed away on October 20^th 2009. We express our deep mourning and respect here.
