摘　　要：《告别薇安》描述了主人公们虚幻、漂浮、矛盾的生活状态,尤其是在追求爱情的过程中,他们过度地关注自我,封闭自我,致使他们陷入孤独、恐惧和无力中而难以自拔。作品在看似边缘化的写作中,透显出作者对人的精神世界的深度挖掘,揭示了人们在体验了疼痛和不羁后,不得不警醒感觉自己的存在这一现实,进而彻悟生存的价值,以保持对精神强度的持续追求。Goodbye VIVIAN is Anne Baby＇s representative work. It depicts white - collar workers＇ lives about their vacancy in the mental domain, the loneliness and sadness, especially for their love, because they are always fussy about themselves and shut themselves from the rest of the society. In the novel, the writer shows her feeling about mental domain and expresses people＇s loneliness,fear,and sense of hopelessness and helplessness.So people must keep a vigilant on the existence of life and the value of existence in order to keep the pursuit of mental domain.
