摘　　要：以卡片目录和机读目录对比分析为依据,提出了西藏图书馆建立OPAC(on-line Pub lic Access Catalog)联机公共查询目录的必要性,并通过阐述西藏图书馆自动化软硬件现状和回溯建库工作,探讨了建立OPAC的可行性,最后引述了完善OPAC的若干措施。The article firstly proposed the necessity of developing on - line Public Access Catalog （OPAC） in the Tibet Library through comparative analysis between card catalog and machine readable catalog; then analyzed the feasibility of the establishment of OPAC by describing the status of library automation software and hardware in the Tibet Library and the work of retrospective conversion bibliographic database ; finaly, quoted a number of strategies to improve the OPAC.
