摘　　要：城市公共交通是城市交通最重要的组成部分,是保证城市日常生产、生活正常运转的大动脉,是增强城市综合功能、提高城市竞争力的重要基础设施之一。东莞市经过20多年的快速发展,社会经济已步入快速发展阶段,但城市公共交通发展的滞后将会影响到社会经济的持续快速发展。因此,在东莞经济社会双转型的关键期,分析东莞市公共交通发展阶段和特点,以及公共交通与社会经济诸因子的相关性,有助于为研究东莞市公共交通发展中存在的问题以及优化升级提供基础性分析。As the most important urban transport component, urban public transportation is the great artery to ensure normal operation of urban everyday life and production and is one of the critical infrastructure to improve the city＇s comprehensive functionality and competitiveness. After rapid development of 20 years, social economy of Dongguan has entered into a rapid stage of development, but the backwardness of the urban public transport will affect the sustainable and rapid development of social economy. Thus, in the critical period of economic and social transformation, the analysis of the stages and characteristics of public transport development, as well as its correlation with socio-economic factors, contributes to provide the basis analysis for the research of existing problems and Optimization and upgrading of Dongguan City＇ s public transport development.
