摘　　要：美国老年医疗保险私有化改革的困境源于民主党和共和党对政府主导和市场主导的方向之争,医疗服务的市场化不一定能导致效率的提高,公共医疗保险在控制费用上可能更有效。美国老年医疗保险私有化改革中的问题与争议对目前我国卫生体制改革有很强的借鉴意义。There is a predicament in privatization plans of American Medicare. It originates from the split between the Democrats and the Republicans about market-directed or government intervention. Medical service＇s marketization may not have their increase of efficiency. Public medical insurance may be in effect to regulate expenditure. Privatization plans of American medicare could be subject to much debate. It currently has strong ideas of reference as regard to reform of medicare system in China.
