摘  要:应用神经示踪、放射免疫测定及组织学方法,对成体鸣禽白腰文鸟前脑发声控制核团的性双态性及血中的睾酮水平进行了研究。结果发现,前脑高级发声中枢、古纹状体粗核和X区三个发声控制核团均存在明显的性双态性,雄性的上述三个发声控制核团体积分别比雌性大531、401和192倍,在三个选定的平面上,雄性个体的前两个核团神经元数量超过雌性,但神经元分布的密度则小于雌性,差异均显著(P<005)。从高级发声中枢投射至X区和古纹状体粗核的神经元直径在雌、雄间无明显差异(P>005),但雌、雄个体中高级发声中枢投射至X区的神经元直径则明显大于投射至古纹状体粗核的神经元直径。此外,放射免疫分析结果表明,雄鸟血清中睾酮水平与古纹状体粗核的体积呈显著相关(P<005),与高级发声中枢的体积呈极显著相关(P<001)。这些结果提示鸣禽雌雄个体鸣啭能力的差别不仅与发声控制核团的大小有关,而且可能与核团中神经元的数量、神经元占有的空间及激素的水平有关。The sexual dimorphism of vocal control nuclei——HVC (high vocal center), RA (robust nucleus of the archistriatum) and Area X——in the telencephalon of adult songbird Lonchura striata swinhoei was investigated by histological techniques and tract tracing methods with Biotinylated Dextran Amine (BDA). The results indicated that there was significant sexual dimorphism in all of the three nuclei. The volumes of HVC, RA and Area X in the males were 5 31, 4 01 and 1 92 times respectively as large as those in the females. The neuron numbers in both HVC and RA of the males were more than those of the females on the same brain levels ( P <0 05), but the neuron densities were less ( P <0 05). No significant difference was found in the mean diameter of Area X projecting neurons or RA projecting neurons between the two sexes. However, the mean diameter of Area X projecting neurons was significantly larger than that of RA projecting neurons in both sexes ( P <0 05). Additionally, a significant correlation between the volume of HVC or RA and the serum testosterone level was found in male cabanis. The coefficient of correlation between the volume of HVC or RA and the serum testosterone level was 0 920 and 0 734 respectively. These results suggested that the difference of singing talent between the males and the females may be correlated with the volume and the neuron numbers of vocal control nuclei, the space taken up by neurons of vocal control nuclei and the serum hormone level as well.
