摘　　要：本文选用1981-2007年的对外直接投资相关数据,从存量和流量数据、多种模型和国际比较等角度对中国投资发展阶段进行了实证检验,结果显示,中国对外直接投资发展符合Dunning的投资发展路径(IDP)理论,使用存量数据较流量数据更具优点,中国对外直接投资处于IDP第三阶段,与其他发展中国家相比,虽然中国人均GDP较低,但对外直接投资发展阶段并不落后。Choosing outward direct investment and other related data during 1981 and 2007, this paper, by means of various models based on flow ＆ stock data and international comparison, makes an empirical study on the development stages of China direct investment aboard. The conclusions show that China confirms Dunning＇ s investment development path （IDP） theory and using stock data is better than flow data. Compared to other developing countries, China is at the third stage of its IDP and is not behind the position that its gross domestic product would justify.
