OBJECTIVE To study the influence of acutobin on serum C-reactive protein (CRP) level and prognosis in acute cerebral infarction patients. METHODS 125 patients with acute cerebral infarction diagnosed by CT/MRI were chosen and divided into two groups randomly. Both the groups were treated with normal method and the treatment group was given acutobin 0.75u by intravenous drip additionally. Serum CRP levels in the two groups were measured by immunoturhidimetry within 72 h after final diagnosis and at one week, two weeks, four weeks after treatment, and nervous function were scored by National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) and activity of daily living (ADL) by Barthel Index (BI) seperatedly before treatment and after the 1st, 2nd and 4th weeks of treatment. RESULTS Serum CRP levels all increased in the patients. After treatment for one week and two weeks the level decreased obviously in treatment group, while the scores of NIHSS and ADL in treatment group were remarkbly better than in control group after the treatment. All the differences were significant compared with control group. CONCLUSION Acutobin can markedly reduce the serum CRP level in acute cerebral infarction patients and has important significance for the pathogenetic condition change and prognosis of cerebral infarction.
