摘 要:明清章回小说的表达方式,在很大程度上接受了文言叙事传统的洗礼,仅仅着眼于口头叙事传统,难以圆满地把握这一研究对象。尤其是在第三人称限知叙事、有意赋予文本以不确定含义和将诗心与写实融合方面,明清章回小说中的几部经典作品卓有建树,体现了鲜明的文人小说风范。这一类文人小说,是不能以研究通俗文学的方式来解读的。Ways and means of expression in chapter novels (with each chapter headed by a couplet denoting its gist) during the Ming and the Qing Dynasty were considerably influenced by the tradition of narration in classical Chinese. Therefore, it is very difficult to obtain a thorough grasp of such fiction if we focuse merely on the tradition of oral narration. Several classical works of Ming - Qing chapter novels have attained noteworthy achievements in the aspects of presenting narration limited by the angle of vision in the third person, of deliberately endowing texts with indefinite meaning, and of merging realistic portrayal with poetic sentiment, thus manifesting the bright style of novels by scholars. This type of novels by men of letters cannot be read or explained clearly in ways that popular literature is studied.
