摘　　要：本文从文化差异的角度,简要地探索成语在英汉对译时的适度性。成语翻译时要注意更新译语的表达,使之具有时代气息,更易为译语读者接受。适度性表现在跟随时代的发展,顺应语言使用的潮流。This paper briefly discusses the appropriateness of translation of proverbs between English and Chinese. It stresses the importance of the use of new expressions that reflect the current development of the languages so as to make the renditions more readable.
