摘 要:针对多种应用条件下高亮度白光LED的驱动要求,提出一种对于不同应用电路拓扑具有广泛适应性的LED驱动控制器芯片.设计采用峰值电流模式控制策略以适应LED的控制特性.针对不同应用拓扑对宽供电电压适应性的要求,引入高精度线性调压器为系统提供稳定的基准电压与工作电压;针对常用的Buck、Boost和Buck-Boost3种拓扑分别提供灵活的接入端口;为支持不同拓扑下的电流检测,构造一个兼具高端与低端电流检测功能的运算放大器;应用分段线性补偿解决斜率补偿中补偿不足或过补偿的问题.芯片实现了3000:1的高调光比,并给出了整个控制器芯片和模块的电路设计.该芯片在1.5μmBCD(bipolar-CMOS-DMOS)工艺下设计与流片,样片测试的结果与设计目标基本一致,取得了预期的效果.A LED driver and controller chip was proposed to drive the high-brightness white light-emitting diode (HBWLED) in different applications.The peak current mode control was adopted to adapt for the characteristics of LED.In addition,a precise linear regulator was introduced into the circuitry to offer stable reference and operation voltages for the system,thus guaranteeing the high adaptability for the supply voltage required by different application circuit topologies;flexible interfaces for Buck,Boost and Buck-Boost topologies were provided;an amplifier possesses both high side and low side current sensing functions was designed to support these applications;and a piecewise linear compensation was applied to prevent the under-and over-compensation in constant slope compensation.PWM dimming with high dimming ratio of 3 000∶1 was realized.The controller IC was designed and fabricated in 1.5 μm BCD (bipolar-CMOS-DMOS) process.Test results of samples were consistent with the expectations well.
