摘　　要：文章介绍了基于Xscale处理器(PXA255)的嵌入式开发平台上实现MPEG-4编码技术;整个系统分为视频信号采集、编码、存储、发送、PC机上解码验证;通过FS-PXA255I开发板上的USB接口实现视频信号的采集,利用PXA255处理器完成输入图像的MPEG-4软件编码;阐述系统总体结构和各部分功能特点,着重介绍MPEG-4编码部分在嵌入式系统上的编码算法。In this paper, we present a technology to realize the MPEG 4 encoding based on the Xscale processor （PXA255） embedded de velopment platform. The whole system is divided into the video signal acquisition, encoding, storing, sending, PC machine decoding verifica tion. FS-PXA255I realizes video signal acquisition through the USB interface on board, and complete MPEG 4 software encoding from the input image using PXA255 processor. Mainly introducing some parts of MPEG-4 encoding system in the embedded coding algorithm, while the overall structure of the system and the various parts of the functional characteristics are presented.
