Objective To evaluate the significance of Toxoplasma gondii (Toxoplasmosis) serological test in pregnant women and patients with infertility, and gynecological diseases. Methods The circulating antigen (CAg) was utilized in the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to identify serum circulating antigens (CAg) and specific IgM and IgG antibodies of Toxoplasma gondii. Results The infection rates of Toxoplasma gondii were 10.7%, 22.6% and 15.5% in pregnant women, patients of infertility, and those with gynecological diseases, in contrast to 10. 0% in healthy non-pregnant women. Conclusion Statistically significant differences in the infection rates were observed between the infertile and normal non-pregnant women ( P 〈 0.01 ) ; the rate was noticeably higher in patients with gynecological disorders than that in non-pregnant women ( P 〈0.05 ), whereas no statistical difference was present between the pregnant group and the non-pregnant group.
