摘　　要：回顾了在现代化信息技术的发展与需求的刺激下 ,图书馆的发展过程 ;简要叙述了数字图书馆的概念 ,指出了当前图书馆面临的问题及研究方向 ;较为详细地讨论了 Java计算的概念、技术、优势以及它在图书馆现代化中的重要作用。This paper reviews the library development under the demends and stimulation of the contenmporation information technology.It also points out the confronting problems and research dirctions for the contemporary libraries,and discusses in depth on the concepts,technology,advantages,and its significance of the Java computing in library modernization.
