摘　　要：东方桥头堡的国家战略地位有一个逐步演进与形成的过程。东方桥头堡国家战略地位的形成,决定了江苏沿海在我国沿海开发中具有"国际战略的洲际战略"地位、"国家战略的全局战略"地位,决定了江苏沿海开发的重点、方向和路径,也决定了连云港在"江苏沿海开发的龙头"的地位。应以东方桥头堡理念引领江苏沿海地区的开发开放。The national strategic position of the East Bridgehead is not formed overnight ; there is a process of evolution. The formation of such a position decides that the coast in Jiangsu Province assumes an intercontinental position in domestic coastal development and a pivotal place in the overall national strategy. Besides, it also decides the focus, direction and ways of eoastal development in Jiangsu Province as well as the vital importance of Lianyungang City therein. Therefore, the City of Lianyungang should have a clear understanding to this and play a leading role in the coast development of Jiangsu Province.
