摘  要:专业性和高深性是高等教育的基本特征和内涵。从中外高等教育的历史变迁看:古代高等教育是与当时的政治、军事、宗教等活动结合在一起,属于相对较高水平的教育;近代高等教育是一种围绕学科、专业来组织的专业教育;现代高等教育是反映现代化需要的多样性、大众化、民主化的多元特征的高深学问教育。从词典解释、法理阐释、学者界定等多重维度对高等教育概念进行解读,梳理出不同思维方式视角下对高等教育的理解。高等教育的概念不是一成不变的,而是随着时代的发展而不断发展变化的。Specialty and complexity are the basic characteristics and connotation of higher education. From the historical evolution of higher education at home and abroad, ancient higher education was connected with political, military, religious and other activities of its corresponding periods of time, and it was a kind of comparatively higher education; modern higher education was a specialized education organized around disciplines and majors; contemporary higher education is a kind of education full of recondite scholarship with the characteristics of variety, popularization and democracy required by modernization. This paper makes an interpretation of the concept of higher education from multiple dimensions, such as the explanations given by dictionaries, laws, scholars and so on. The concept of higher education does not keep unchanged for ever, and it maintains developing with the times .
